Introducing Navis: AI-Powered Accessible Navigation for the Blind and Visually Impaired

AI keeps evolving, yet millions of visually impaired people remain excluded from something as fundamental as navigating with confidence.

That’s what we set out to change with Navis, our upcoming all-in-one accessible navigation system designed for real pedestrian reality.

Currently in development and preparing for release later this year, Navis is being shaped together with blind and low-vision communities around the world.

Built for Independence

Navis brings together advanced walking guidance, public transport support, local exploration, and live human tele-assistance - all into one seamless experience.

Where most apps are adapted for accessibility, Navis was built around it from the ground up.

For most people, navigation is background noise. But for someone who’s blind or low-vision, it’s a constant cognitive challenge. Having to process sounds, remember routes, and manage uncertainty.

Our mission is to lift that burden. Navis lets AI handle the complexity, so users can focus on living.

How Navis Works

  • Precise walking guidance: Step-by-step instructions that follow real pedestrian paths, not vague compass directions.

  • Exact arrival: Visual positioning guides users right to the entrance or house number.

  • HALO Haptics: Steady, gentle cues that guide your direction, not just a buzz for mistakes, but an intuitive sense of where to go.

  • Awareness on demand: Ask “Where am I?” or “What’s around me?” to get contextual details instantly.

  • Route preview: Explore terrain and turns before heading out, nothing unexpected, no stress.

  • Human tele-assistance: Connect anytime with trained operators for real-time support in multiple languages.

Together, these features make Navis feel less like an app and more like a trusted companion.

And no - Navis isn’t here to replace canes or guide dogs. It’s made to complement them, adding clarity, context, and confidence to every step.
